MILK PROJECT
Challenged by the poor nutrition of children in the rural areas, we set about providing nourishing goats milk
to pre-schoolers and orphaned babies.
COMMUNITY AGRI-GARDENS
Not manicured lawns and fragrant rose gardens, but rough fields managed by community groups, prepared and planted up with maize or vegetables to feed the poorest in the community. We have about 600 volunteers working alongside us, and have just harvested 40 tonnes of maize -
MERCY PROJECTS
Helping individuals in acute circumstances we’ve supplied blankets, mosquito nets, funds for micro enterprises, goats, emergency food, medical treatment and re-built homes for the vulnerable.
EDUCATION SPONSORSHIP
The cost of Secondary School education means many living in poverty are unable to continue past the primary level - but with the help of sponsors we’ve kept more than 70 eager and enthusiastic teenagers in school. You can give a child a chance by donating just £39 for a year’s education, exam fees and uniform.
BORE-HOLE REPAIR
Thousands of people have benefited from OHP repairing bore-holes, thus restoring clean, local drinking water
to dozens of villages in the Bush.
VOLUNTEERS’ SCHEME
A Programme to help our volunteers, usually poverty-stricken themselves,to successfully harvest their own fields.
AGRICULTURAL TRAINING
We train our volunteers in the latest agricultural techniques and good practice, to not only benefit our OHP “Gardens” but also their own.
(enough for about 200,000 meals-2007)
PLAY CENTRES
Bringing together acutely vulnerable youngsters for fortified feeding and loving care.
