Over many months, Dorothy regained her strength so she asked if we would “invest” in a small business for her.
Just £5 started her off. She bought peanuts, - roasted, salted, and packaged them, selling them in the market for a small pr ofit. She worked hard, eventually re-investing in rice, and now she can feed and clothe her family by her own efforts as a rice trader!

We first met Dorothy and her little ones in 2005. She was chronically ill with TB, a widow, struggling to feed her three children. With the help of friends we rebuilt her crumbling home, devastated by torrential rains.
Dorothy, her boys, and her new home - it even has a window!!!
Dorothy’s wrecked home, crumbling walls and ruined roof wouldn’t withstand the coming rains!
