The Royal Agricultural
Society of the
Commonwealth
invited Aid Africa to
present a paper at The 24th
Commonwealth Agricultural
Conference held in June 2010
in Edinburgh.
Quite an honour - our subject was “Serving the vulnerable
in rural Malawi”
An exciting opportunity to share
the grass roots challenges faced by those in the remote areas.
We addressed 220 delegates from 40 Agricultural Societies
in 21 countries.
Fuel shortage is the big issue in Malawi at the moment. We’ve heard of cars being abandoned for days
in queues at filling stations when there’s rumour of a possible delivery. The cost of living is wildly shooting up - if available, both petrol and diesel are sometimes over £3.50 a litre in outlying areas!
