Lots of the children that we sponsor at Secondary Schools have been visiting, with all sorts of needs—from exercise books to paraffin so they can study at night. There’s been lots of re-organisation in the schools, causing an administrative nightmare, but we’ve now sorted the changes, paid school & exam fees, and bought uniforms.

We’re delighted that 5 of our Form 4’s last year passed their MSCE (equal to good GCSE passes), but now they’re looking to the future. Some want to learn to

drive and become career drivers (a big deal in Malawi!) others want to go to College or University.

We’d like to set up a FE Fund (Further Education Fund) to help the particularly gifted become nurses, teachers, doctors, or other professions Malawi desperately needs as it tries to push through the poverty barrier.

Currently, we support the Secondary School education of 81 teenagers out in the rural areas - all are deemed vulnerable, and would not be able to remain in school without the help of their UK sponsors.
